Join our work exchange program for an amazing adventure! During retreats, you’ll enjoy a vibrant atmosphere, meet wonderful people from around the globe, and form lasting friendships. The retreats offer transformative experiences filled with magical moments for all participants. You’re invited to join the sharing sessions and fully participate in the journey.
Between retreats, enjoy a peaceful retreat with just a small group. With no pressure, you can help prepare for upcoming retreats by assisting in the kitchen, tending the garden, refreshing rooms, or adding artistic touches like wall stencils—tasks with flexible timing. Use this downtime to write, unwind, socialize, or reflect. Then, gear up for the excitement of the next retreat!
The work exchange requires a minimum commitment of 2 months. With a tourist visa, you can stay in Ecuador for up to 3 months. Want to extend your stay? Apply for a visa extension and remain for 6-9 months annually. Learn more at Passport and Entry.
A $200 deposit is required to join as a volunteer, refundable upon departure if all hours are completed and no ceremony fees are owed. We’ll send an invoice for the deposit once your application is accepted, due 60 days before your start date. Cancel less than 30 days prior, and the deposit is non-refundable. If you don’t fulfill your hours, $5 per unworked hour will be deducted from your refund.
This policy ensures volunteers arrive as planned and complete their commitments. We’ve noticed some slack off near the end or skip out entirely without a financial stake, leaving us short-staffed if positions go unfilled.

Getting Acquainted
The first 2 weeks serve as a trial period. During this time, either you or Gaia Sagrada can end the arrangement if it’s not a fit. If it’s not working for you, you’re free to go. Likewise, we may ask you to leave if challenges arise—so kindness is key!
We seek individuals who are easygoing, drama-free, and eager to support Gaia Sagrada’s mission. Our retreats foster a warm, family-like environment where everyone feels secure and cared for. Bring a kind heart, positive attitude, and a dash of humor, and you’ll thrive here!
